The acapella singing group, the Lovenotes, was formed in 2005 by Manchester based trio Faith Watson, Jules Gibb and Katherine Watson. In 2006, they met up with acclaimed Blues singer/songwriter Helen Watson and the heady combination of tight acapella harmonies with Helen's soulful improvisation proved a hit at gigs and led to the production of the Lovenotes' first CD.
Always looking for ways to enhance the range of harmonies and potential for vocal arrangement, in 2008 the Lovenotes became four, with the addition of Rose Hodgson an experienced acapella singer who had recently moved to Manchester from Sheffield.
A typical Lovenotes set (and the latest CD), demonstrates a wonderfully diverse combination of harmony singing, with truly innovative 3, 4 and 5 part arrangements of songs ranging from Jazz to Traditional to Contemporary as well as original material written by the members of the group themselves.
